120 Combat Engagements in a Single Day: Ukrainian General Staff Identifies Primary Target of Russian Offensive

According to Главком: On May 6, the Ukrainian Armed Forces provided an update on the frontline situation, reporting that the enemy continues intensive combat operations, including missile strikes, aerial attacks, kamikaze drone deployments, and widespread shelling. A total of 120 combat clashes occurred on the 1,533rd day of the war.
The adversary launched one missile strike using two rockets, conducted 47 airstrikes dropping 173 guided bombs, deployed 5,649 kamikaze drones, and carried out 1,862 shelling attacks on civilian settlements and Ukrainian military positions.
Frontline Situation
In the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy executed five airstrikes with 14 guided bombs. That same day, 59 shelling incidents were recorded, including seven from multiple-launch rocket systems. One enemy assault operation was also noted in these areas. In the South-Slobozhanskyi direction, the adversary attacked Ukrainian positions 11 times, particularly near Vovchansk, Starytsia, Lyptsi, Lyman, Izbystske, Mala Vovcha, and Symynivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched six assaults targeting Kurylivka, Pishchane, Novoplatonivka, and Borivska Andriivka. The Lyman direction saw 15 enemy assaults in areas including Nadiia, Stavky, Yampil, as well as toward Lyman, Novoserhiivka, and Ozerne. In the Kostiantynivka direction, 14 assaults were recorded near Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Pleshchiivka, Stepanivka, and toward Kostiantynivka and Novopavlivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy conducted 25 attacks, including toward Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Shevchenko, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Serhiivka, and Molodetske. Additionally, one attack was recorded in the Oleksandrivka direction near Verbove, while the Huliaipole direction saw 15 attacks near Zlahoda, Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, Zelene, and toward Hirke and Huliaipolske. In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked once near Shcherbaky. In the Prydniprovskyi direction, two assaults were carried out toward Antonivka and Bilohrudyi Island.
The frontline remains tense as active combat continues across multiple sectors. The Ukrainian Armed Forces persist in countering the aggression despite the intensity of enemy attacks. Notably, this conflict demands significant resources and effort from both sides daily, underscoring its prolonged and complex nature. Ukrainian leadership and military analysts continue to assess the situation to make decisions aimed at protecting the country's territorial integrity and security.
