According to Главком: As of 10:00 PM on May 5, 2023, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported intense combat activity. Over the past 24 hours, 132 separate clashes occurred on the battlefield. Russian forces launched a missile strike involving 11 rockets, conducted 40 airstrikes dropping 141 guided bombs, deployed 6,023 kamikaze drones, and fired 2,606 times at Ukrainian positions and populated areas.

Latest Frontline Developments

The Pokrovsk sector remains the most volatile area, with the enemy launching 34 attacks there. Ukrainian forces eliminated 50 Russian soldiers and wounded 16 others in that sector. Additionally, the following enemy assets were destroyed:

  • two military vehicles
  • four pieces of special equipment
  • two artillery pieces
  • one drone control post

Damages reported include:

  • two military vehicles
  • six artillery pieces
  • two drone control posts
  • 86 enemy personnel shelters

In total, 170 drones of various types were either destroyed or suppressed in the Pokrovsk area.

On the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk axes, two skirmishes took place, the enemy carried out two airstrikes using five guided bombs, and conducted 74 shelling incidents. On the Southern Slobozhansky axis, Russian forces stormed Ukrainian positions 12 times. In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy attacked twice toward Radkivka and Kindrashivka.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled six enemy attempts to advance, while in the Kramatorsk area, one assault toward Nykyforivka was stopped. On the Kostiantynivka axis, 12 enemy assaults were beaten back. In the Oleksandrivka sector, occupiers tried to improve their positions 12 times, and on the Huliaipole axis, 18 enemy attacks occurred.

This marks the 1,532nd day of the full-scale war in Ukraine.

The frontline situation remains difficult, with high levels of combat and significant losses on both sides. The intense activity in the Pokrovsk sector underscores the ongoing ferocity of the fighting, as Ukrainian forces focus on containing enemy advances. Continued support from international partners remains critical to shaping the trajectory of events in the region.
