An eighth-grade student, she is also an active musician who plays the clarinet in the city orchestra. Her family has a tradition of keeping long hair, and each year she trims 15 cm of damaged ends to maintain healthy strands. As of November 2025, her hair measured 105 cm.

Hair Care Routine

Standing 180 cm tall, Alona began growing her hair to waist length when she was just four years old. 'By the time I was four, my hair was already down to my waist,' she shares. Her daily routine involves about an hour for washing and an hour and a half for drying. 'Caring for hair this long isn't overly difficult, but it takes a lot of time,' Alona notes. For maintenance, she uses:

Alona's mother, Tamara Budko, has been trimming her daughter's hair every three months since she was a toddler. 'It just grows, and we like it. Sometimes we visit a trichologist to keep an eye on physiological changes during adolescence,' Tamara explains. Alona emphasizes that healthy hair matters more to her than extreme length. 'For me, it's simply the highlight of my look,' she says.

Among those also known for exceptionally long hair is record-holder Aliya Nasyrova, who entered the Guinness World Records for the longest hair in the world. Her hair measures 257.33 cm-92 cm longer than her own height of 165 cm. Other notable figures include Sultan Kosen, who stands 251 cm tall.

Alona Budko shares her thoughts on long hair: 'I don't want to cut it; I really like it.' She stresses that if people are prepared for the significant attention it requires, they can grow it out. 'The main thing is that it's healthy,' she adds.
