140 veterans competed in Odesa: how adaptive sports unite Ukraine
Participants took part in four disciplines: archery, boccia, rowing on simulators, and wheelchair basketball. The event lasted from September 19 to 21.
The co-organizers of the competition were the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, Odesa OVA, NGO 'Free Warriors', Odesa Regional Federation of Adaptive Sports and Veteran Support, and the Charity Fund 'Unlimited Opportunities'.
«I had the honor to be alongside our defenders during the veterans' competition. Veterans from all over Ukraine came to Odesa to prove: sports heal, unite, and open new horizons», – noted in his Telegram channel the founder of the Charity Fund 'Unlimited Opportunities' and vice president of the Odesa Regional Federation of Adaptive Sports and Veteran Support Yuriy Dehas.
He emphasized that 'the competition was made possible thanks to the joint interaction of the authorities, business, and civil society'.
The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets and the head of Odesa OVA Oleg Kiper took part in the opening of the event.
140 veterans from different regions of Ukraine participated in the adaptive sports competition 'On the Wave'. Sports truly unite, providing new opportunities and promoting an active lifestyle, especially among veterans.
