TacTeam Unit Trains in the US: 16 Officers Practice Hostage Rescue and Other High-Risk Scenarios

TacTeam Officers Complete Intensive US Training Course

According to МВС: Sixteen members of the TacTeam special response unit within the patrol police have completed an 80-hour, two-week training program in the United States. The curriculum put officers through a broad range of operational scenarios, including:

• hostage-release operations
• responses to active shooters
• assaults on buildings and vehicles
• ballistic shield handling
• apprehension of violent high-risk offenders

The course was conducted together with American law enforcement partners, giving the Ukrainian officers exposure to up-to-date tactical methods and rigorous firearms training. Those skills and lessons will be folded into future training for both special-response teams and regular patrol officers, with the aim of strengthening performance in demanding field situations.

Strengthening Ukraine's Law Enforcement Through Reform

The program is one component of broader efforts to modernize Ukraine's law enforcement agencies, a priority at a time when national security remains a key concern. Close cooperation with international allies such as the United States helps Ukrainian police adopt contemporary standards and technologies, which can in turn improve crime-fighting capacity and public order management.
