176 Guided Bombs and 173 Clashes: Pokrovsk Sector Sees Its Most Intense Day

According to Главком: On May 23, marking the 1,550th day of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukrainian forces recorded 173 combat engagements. The enemy launched 55 airstrikes, dropping 176 guided aerial bombs. Over 4,177 kamikaze drones were deployed, highlighting the growing reliance on unmanned systems in the conflict. Additionally, 1,954 artillery and mortar attacks targeted populated areas and military positions.
Frontline Situation
The Pokrovsk axis-one of the hottest sectors-saw 48 Russian troops eliminated and 12 wounded. During the fighting there, Ukrainian forces destroyed:
- 3 vehicles,
- 8 pieces of specialized equipment,
- 1 drone control post.
Another 5 vehicles and 4 artillery pieces were damaged. In this sector alone, 190 enemy drones of various types were either destroyed or suppressed.
On the Northern Slobozhanske and Kursk axes, only 1 combat clash occurred, while the enemy conducted 50 shelling attacks. On the Southern Slobozhanske axis, Russian forces attempted three assaults on Ukrainian positions. No offensive actions were recorded on the Kupiansk axis. On the Lyman axis, Ukrainian troops repelled 5 attempts to advance. In the Sloviansk sector, 2 enemy attacks were beaten back, while no offensive moves were noted on the Kramatorsk axis.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, 14 assaults took place, compared to 36 attacks on the Pokrovsk sector. Ukrainian forces repelled 1 assault on the Oleksandrivka axis, while the Huliaipole sector saw 20 enemy attacks. On the Orikhiv axis, 3 assaults were recorded, and no offensive actions occurred on the Prydniprovia axis.
These developments underscore the continuation of intense combat and heightened military activity across multiple frontline sectors, with both sides maintaining pressure.
The sustained fighting shows that the war in Ukraine remains highly active, with neither side easing off. The increased use of airstrikes and drones points to an evolution in battlefield tactics that could shape future operations.
