Fiercest Fighting in Pokrovsk Sector: 173 Clashes Reported in a Single Day

According to Главком: According to the Ukrainian General Staff's report for May 24, the front line saw 173 combat engagements, signaling a notable escalation in hostilities. Over the past day, Russian forces launched one missile strike using 89 missiles, carried out 56 airstrikes dropping 178 guided bombs, deployed 6,015 kamikaze drones, and shelled civilian settlements and military positions 2,054 times.

Frontline Situation

The most intense fighting occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian forces eliminated 50 Russian troops and wounded 15 others. In this sector, they destroyed:

• a fuel and lubricant depot
• one artillery system
• three vehicles
• one piece of special enemy equipment

Additionally, five vehicles, three artillery systems, and 13 enemy shelters were damaged. In this area alone, 238 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were neutralized or suppressed.

In the North-Slobozhanske and Kursk sectors, there was one combat clash. The enemy conducted four airstrikes dropping 13 guided bombs and launched 54 shelling attacks, two of which involved multiple launch rocket systems. In the South-Slobozhanske direction, Russian forces stormed Ukrainian positions five times near Fyholivka, Veterynarne, and Starytsya. No offensive actions were recorded in the Kupiansk sector.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled eight enemy attempts to advance near Drobysheve, Dibrova, Yampil, and Lyman. Meanwhile, in the Sloviansk sector, defense forces thwarted four incursions near Zakitne and Rai-Oleksandrivka. A single enemy attack occurred in the Kramatorsk direction near Nykyforivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian defenders fought off nine enemy assaults near Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Rusyn Yar. On the Pokrovsk front, the enemy launched 32 attacks targeting Toretske, Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopavlivka, Kucheriv Yar, Shevchenka, and Bilytske. In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian forces advanced twice near Ternove.

In the Huliaipole sector, there were 18 enemy assaults near Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Olenokostiantynivka, Hirke, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Staroukrainka, Verkhnia Tersa, Tsvitkove, and Charivne, with two clashes still ongoing. In the Orikhiv direction, three enemy attacks occurred near Bilohirya, Stepnohirsk, and Prymorske, with one battle continuing.

In the Dnipro region, the enemy attacked twice near the Antonivka Bridge. It is worth noting that this marks the 1,551st day of Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine.

The situation on Ukraine's front lines remains tense, with combat activity intensifying across multiple sectors. The surge in attacks and the heavy use of kamikaze drones highlight the enemy's efforts to shift the battlefield dynamics in their favor. Ukrainian armed forces continue to hold their ground, repelling numerous assaults and inflicting losses on the adversary, demonstrating the resilience of Ukraine's military amid the prolonged conflict.
