Ukraine’s Hottest Frontline Sector: 178 Clashes and 244 Guided Bombs in One Day, Says General Staff

According to Главком: On June 1, 2023, the frontlines saw 178 combat engagements, 68 airstrikes, and the deployment of 244 guided aerial bombs by Russian forces. The invaders also used 5,859 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,187 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas. This marked the 1,559th day since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Frontline Situation
The Pokrovsk sector remained the most intense, where Ukrainian troops eliminated 32 enemy soldiers and wounded nine others. They also destroyed two vehicles, six pieces of specialized equipment, and a quad bike. Over 200 hostile drones were either destroyed or suppressed in this area. Additionally, seven vehicles, two artillery pieces, one drone control post, and 11 personnel shelters were damaged. Russian forces launched 36 assaults on the Pokrovsk axis.
On the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk axes, three combat clashes occurred, with the enemy conducting five airstrikes, dropping 16 guided bombs, and shelling 67 times. On the Southern Slobozhanskyi axis, occupiers attempted to breach defenses seven times, while on the Kupiansk axis, they launched four attacks.
On the Lyman axis, Ukrainian fighters repelled eight assaults. On the Sloviansk axis, defense forces halted four enemy attempts to advance. On the Kramatorsk axis, the enemy made one effort to push back Ukrainian defenders, while on the Kostiantynivka axis, Ukrainian forces beat back eight attacks.
On the Oleksandrivka axis, occupiers tried once to improve their positions. The Huliaipole axis recorded 23 attacks. No offensive actions occurred on the Orikhiv axis. On the Dnipro axis, Ukrainian troops stopped two attempts to advance near the Antonivskyi Bridge.
The overall frontline situation remains tense, with the Pokrovsk sector seeing the most active combat operations.
