Lyman, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk Bear Brunt of Fighting as Ukraine Reports 254 Clashes in a Day

The heaviest Russian offensive pressure was concentrated around Lyman, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk. The report is part of the military's daily accounting of the full-scale invasion that began on February 24, 2022. Over the day, Russian forces launched one missile strike using nine missiles, carried out 87 aviation strikes, and dropped 278 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed 10,295 one-way attack drones and opened fire in 3,193 separate shelling incidents.

Ukrainian defense forces successfully targeted:

• seven Russian personnel concentration areas,
• two ammunition depots,
• four command posts,
• four drone control centers.

Russian losses for the day were estimated at 1,470 troops, 1,746 UAVs, and 48 artillery systems.

How Fighting Played Out Across Different Sectors

On the Lyman sector, Russian forces tried 30 times to break through Ukrainian defenses. In the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, three enemy assault attempts were stopped. The enemy also struck with three guided aerial bombs and carried out 51 shelling attacks. Ukrainian units on the Southern Slobozhanskyi sector repelled 25 attacks, while the Kupiansk sector saw two offensive actions by Russian troops.

The Sloviansk sector recorded seven enemy assault operations, and the Kramatorsk sector saw three attacks. On the Kostiantynivka sector, there were 31 attacks, while the Pokrovsk sector counted 26. In the Oleksandrivskyi sector, Russian forces launched three attacks, and the Huliaipole sector came under 21 attacks.

On the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces stopped two enemy attempts to advance, while the Prydniprovskyi sector saw no assault operations over the past day. No signs of offensive groupings were detected on the Volyn or Polissia sectors.

Artillery fire hit settlements in Sumy Oblast, including:

• Ulanove,
• Kucherivka,
• Mala Slobidka,
• Nova Huta,
• Neskuchne,
• Vilna Sloboda,

• Sopych,
• Tovstodubove,
• Simeychyne.

The village of Halahanivka in Chernihiv Oblast also came under artillery fire.

Total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, through August 10, 2026, are estimated at about 1,459,210 personnel, including the daily increase of 1,470. Enemy equipment losses also continued to climb:

• tanks – 12,255 (+2),
• armored combat vehicles – 25,116 (+13),
• special equipment – 4,511 (+6),
• trucks and fuel tankers – 132,236 (+461),
• artillery systems – 47,669 (+48).

The frontline remains tense, with active fighting along multiple sectors. Despite heavy Russian losses, assault attempts continue, indicating that the enemy still intends to push deeper into Ukrainian territory. Ukrainian forces, meanwhile, continue to hold their ground and inflict significant damage on the attacking side.
