Ukraine received 26,000 doses of rabies vaccine: how to act after a bite
According to Міністерство Здоров'я: Ukraine has received 26,000 doses of rabies vaccine as humanitarian aid from the World Health Organization. The distribution and transportation of the vaccine between regions will begin on November 24, organized by the Public Health Center.
Additionally, 60,105 doses of vaccine, which were purchased with state budget funds, are expected to be received in December. Another 200,000 doses of vaccine are in the procurement stage by the Ministry of Health.

Rabies is a deadly infection that can be transmitted to humans through a bite or saliva contact. Timely use of vaccine and immunoglobulin helps prevent the disease. Rabies prevention starts with vaccinating animals, carried out by veterinary specialists.

If bitten by an animal, immediately wash the bite area with soap and water. Then, seek medical assistance from a facility that provides rabies assistance in your area. The doctor will prescribe the appropriate vaccination and immunoglobulins if necessary.
