According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukraine will impose electricity consumption limits across all regions on January 30, with measures lasting throughout the day. These restrictions, confirmed by Ukrenergo's press service, are a response to the aftermath of missile and drone attacks on energy infrastructure, adverse weather conditions, and rising power demand. Households will face scheduled hourly blackouts, while industrial consumers will have their power capacity limited. This situation highlights the ongoing strain on the country's energy grid due to the war.

State of the Energy System

First Deputy Energy Minister Artem Nekrasov identified the primary cause of the power deficit as damage from overnight strikes on Ukrainian power plants and electricity transmission and distribution substations. The energy system remains under severe strain, operating under an emergency regime, with a particular power shortage persisting in Kyiv and its surrounding region.

As of the morning of January 29, 531 settlements across seven regions remained without power due to ice and wet snow accumulation. Areas experiencing supply issues include Odesa, Kyiv, and Vinnytsia regions. Furthermore, electricity consumption on the morning of January 29 was 1.6% higher than the previous day.
