The Life and Death of Maksym Hohol

According to Главком: Maksym Hohol, a Ukrainian soldier, lost his life on July 18, 2022, in the city of Siversk, located in the Bakhmut district. He was 37 years old. Born on November 8, 1984, in Kyiv, Hohol attended School No. 25 in the capital. After graduating, he earned a higher education degree in radio engineering and information security.

At the start of the full-scale invasion, Hohol was working in the financial department of the company Kyivstar. He was married and had two sons, ages 4 and 8. On February 24, 2022, when the war began, Hohol was traveling to the Carpathian Mountains with his older son. However, on March 4, 2022, he made the decision to volunteer and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Military Service and Remembrance

Hohol served in military unit A4017, where he held the position of rifle squad commander, a role assigned at the initiative of his fellow soldiers. His military rank was warrant officer. After his death, he was buried in the Alley of Remembrance for Defenders in the city of Irpin.
