5000 UAH per student: Ukrainians informed about the rules for receiving payments
Ukrainian families will receive a new type of state support for preparing children for school. According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the 'School Package' program will be launched, which provides for the payment of 5000 UAH for each first-grader.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted: 'Today, at the initiative of the president, we are making a decision to launch a new payment - the 'School Package'.
To receive these funds, the entire process will be maximally simplified for parents. Applications for the 'School Package' can be submitted through the 'Diia' app, and the money can only be spent cashless using a bank card. These funds are intended for purchasing stationery, educational materials, children's clothing, and shoes.
Access to the program for all families
The government supports access to this program for all Ukrainian families without exception. Specific dates for submitting applications will be announced by the Ministry of Social Policy. It is important to note that receiving the 'School Package' will not affect the granting of social benefits, such as housing subsidies.
This new initiative is a continuation of state support for families, which began with the 'Baby Package' program. This assistance for parents of newborns was first introduced in 2018 in the form of a set of items for infant care. In July 2020, the government transformed this program into monetary payments, and since 2022 it has allowed these funds to be used for any needs of families.
