Після тривалого лікування та численних операцій, 69-річний мешканець Тернополя нарешті знову вдома.

A Tragedy in Ternopil

According to Главком: Yevhen, a 69-year-old resident, was severely injured in a Russian missile strike on Ternopil on November 19, 2025. The attack claimed 38 lives, including children, and left over 90 people wounded. Yevhen suffered a penetrating abdominal wound that damaged internal organs and caused massive bleeding, leading to serious medical complications.

Treatment and Recovery

Emergency responders provided immediate care after the strike. His leg was at risk of amputation due to poor blood circulation, but doctors managed to save the limb. Following surgery, Yevhen remained unconscious for a week and later developed a severe purulent-septic complication. Surgeons performed six reconstructive procedures to restore the function of his bladder, right ureter, and intestines.

After six months of treatment in Lviv, Yevhen returned home for the first time in June 2025. However, prolonged blood supply issues have left his leg without sensation, making it impossible for him to walk. An orthopedic surgery is planned in six months to help restore his mobility. Yevhen shared his thoughts:

“My neighbors hugged me and said they were so happy I survived. My son and daughter kept telling me: 'Dad, stay alive, we still need you.' That is my greatest support. And now I really want to get back on my feet so I can help my wife.”

This incident is one of many tragic events resulting from the ongoing aggression in Ukraine. Yevhen, like countless others, has become a symbol of resilience and the fight for survival amid war.
