Former prosecutor received 7.5 years for deadly road accident: prosecution appeals the verdict

According to Прокуратура Київ: A former prosecutor has received 7.5 years in prison for a deadly road accident. The court has issued the verdict, but many consider it too lenient.

The fatal accident occurred in the summer when a woman was walking home on the sidewalk and was hit by a car. The perpetrator did not provide any assistance and did not call an ambulance, resulting in the victim dying in the hospital.

This tragedy could have been avoided had it not been for indifference and neglect of responsibility.

In court, 10 years of imprisonment were demanded, but 7.5 years were imposed. Most are dissatisfied with this ruling, so an appeal will be filed.

No sentence can return a person's life. But it is important to demand just punishment for all offenders, regardless of their status.
