Additionally, on January 8, the Kyiv Court of Appeal ruled to set bail for Nestor Shufrych in the amount of 33 million 280 thousand UAH. Nestor Shufrych has been in custody for over two years, and this court decision opens up the possibility for his release on bail.

The lawyer for Shufrych commented: 'There is a ruling from the Kyiv Court of Appeal dated January 6.'

On this day, new heads were announced for four regions:

  • Ruslan Osypenko became the head of the Chernivtsi region;

Regarding Anna Skorokhod, her bail was increased to 4 million UAH. This decision indicates a change in the preventive measure for the MP.

Against the backdrop of these events, the U.S. embassy warns of the threat of a massive air strike on Ukraine in the coming days. President Volodymyr Zelensky also reported a potential attack that could occur on January 9. This escalating tension indicates the continuation of military actions on the territory of Ukraine.

The events of January 8 indicate the ongoing military escalation in Ukraine, particularly due to shelling of cities that results in human casualties. Changes in regional leadership may be related to the need to strengthen management structures in times of crisis.
