89-year-old miner saved a chicken from a burning house: the evacuation story from Donetsk
The story of Kostyantyn Oleksiyovych
According to Главком: 89-year-old Kostyantyn Oleksiyovych left the frontline village in Donetsk after his house was destroyed by a drone strike. During the evacuation, he took his chicken, which he considers his friend, with him. Kostyantyn noted:
'The chicken is my friend, I have been talking to her for two years, we have survived all the shelling and the moment the drone hit my house together. I just couldn’t leave her.'
Kostyantyn Oleksiyovych lived in the village of Stinky, which was affected by the fighting. He worked for 24 years in a mine, and his wife passed away a few years ago. Now Kostyantyn is receiving assistance from the humanitarian mission 'Proliska'.
Evacuation Process
During the evacuation from Donetsk, soldiers of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo evacuated the last three residents of the village. Over 15,000 people have passed through the transit center in Lozova, leaving the dangerous areas of Donetsk.
