90% of deferrals from service are now automatically extended online: what has changed in the Ministry of Defense
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has expanded the mechanism for automatic extension of military deferments. Now about 90% of such deferments are extended online without submitting applications, certificates, or visiting the military enlistment office. The latest auto-extension took place until February 2, inclusive, and concerned both applications through the Reserve+ app and those registered at the Administrative Services Center (ASC). This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The agency notes that this time the list of categories for which automatic extension applies has been expanded by seven positions. Data for checking the grounds will be pulled from state registers, and confirmation will appear in Reserve+ without human involvement.
Automatic extension of deferments: what it changes
Previously, for an extension of deferment, one had to personally go to the military enlistment office, collect documents, and wait for a decision for more than a week. This created additional burdens for both citizens and military institutions. Now, in most cases, the process occurs automatically, and applications are submitted through the ASC only in exceptional cases.
Thanks to this:

the number of paper procedures decreases;

queues regarding deferments disappear;

the military enlistment office has more time for key mobilization tasks.
New categories of deferments with automatic extension
Seven new categories have been added to the list. Automatic extension now also applies to:

parents raising a seriously ill child without a disability;

persons caring for a seriously ill family member;
-
guardians of individuals deemed incapacitated;
-
those who have a spouse with a third-group disability;
-
persons caring for relatives of the second or third degree of kinship with a disability;
-
teachers.
The automatic extension is also preserved for previously defined categories, including individuals with disabilities, students, large families, education workers, and persons whose relatives died or went missing during the war.
If a Reserve+ user has not received a notification, this means that the data in the registers is outdated or incomplete. In this case, they need to contact the ASC. Military enlistment offices do not accept applications for deferments from citizens anymore.
Please note that one cannot receive a deferral online without military registration.
