New instructions for applicants: the main changes in the admission campaign have been announced
The admission campaign for 2025 has just begun, and applicants across Ukraine are actively submitting their applications online. This year, the rules have added several important changes that are already affecting the admission process, so applicants should be careful to avoid mistakes.
One of the main updates is the possibility of setting priorities not only for budget-funded education but also for contract education. Now, an applicant can submit two applications for the same specialty at the same university: one for the general entrance exam and another for the contract.
This gives a chance to obtain a government grant if one does not succeed in getting a budget place. However, it is important to remember that if you accept the offered budget place, you will not be able to refuse the contract.
New requirements for master's and doctoral students
Future master's students are also facing updated requirements this year. The list of mandatory exams for admission has added linguistics and history of arts. For some specialties, exams in specific subjects are now required. Those who have not yet chosen their future profession should check the updated list of exams in Appendix 8 to the Admission Rules.
Changes also apply to admission to postgraduate studies, which this time is conducted entirely online. Applicants submit their applications online, and to be admitted to the entrance exams, it is necessary to pass the EVI and EFVV with high scores. Since future postgraduate students need to follow a different schedule, it is important not to miss the deadlines.
Choosing specialties: what to know
In conclusion, when choosing their future profession, applicants should carefully consider their choice. Starting this year, a new list of fields of knowledge is in effect, so it is advisable to check all the information carefully before submitting an application. Also, do not forget about the record results of the national entrance examinations, where an unexpected leader among subjects has emerged.
