The U.S. government has decided to destroy nearly 500 tons of food that was intended for emergency assistance and was to be sent abroad. Such cookies are distributed in crisis situations when people have lost their homes due to natural disasters or have been forced to leave their native lands due to conflicts. Humanitarian organizations use this product when there is no opportunity to cook food independently.

The products were purchased for a total of 800 thousand dollars, were stored in a warehouse in Dubai, and were planned to be sent to children this year. It is known that since January officials have asked the new USAID leadership to send the cookies while they were still fit for consumption, The Atlantic reported.
