Ukrenergo establishes new drone protection: how it will affect electricity
The head of the NEC 'Ukrenergo', Vitalii Zaichenko, had an interesting interview with RBK-Ukraine. He explained how the protection of energy structures in Ukraine works, what types of protection they use, and how they plan to reduce electricity outages in the future.
Currently, massive reinforced concrete structures are used to protect the transformer equipment of 'Ukrenergo', which completely protect it from direct attacks by drones and missile debris. In addition, the company is already implementing the 'level 2+' project, which involves lowering the relay room and control panel of the substation underground for additional protection of energy facilities.
Protection against attacks on energy facilities is an important task for 'Ukrenergo', as it can lead to serious electricity outages over large areas. Therefore, the company is gradually equipping protection at all its facilities, taking care of the stable operation of the country's energy system.
