The Ukrainian government is planning to increase excise taxes in 2026, which will result in higher prices for fuel, cigarettes, and soft drinks. According to MP Oleksiy Leonov, the excise tax on cigarettes will rise by 5%, while the excise on gasoline and diesel will increase by 10-17%, and a new tax on sugary drinks will also be introduced. Experts believe that these changes will not significantly impact fuel prices at gas stations. However, the final cost of fuel will depend on global oil prices, logistics, and exchange rates. There is also an expectation of rising prices for electric vehicles in Ukraine starting from early 2026.
