According to glavcom.ua: In the first half of 2025, the highest number of vacancies is expected for workers in the service and provision of services sector, specialists with specific skills and knowledge, as well as specialists with higher education and unskilled workers. The greatest shortage of specialists in Ukraine is noted among those with specific skills and higher education. This data is provided by 'Glavkom' citing information from the State Employment Service.

Forecasts for future employees

According to forecasts from the State Employment Service, after the war ends in Ukraine, the labor market situation will be stable. There will be a high demand for professionals in the following sectors:

  • Military. The need for highly qualified personnel for the army's staffing will remain relevant long after the war ends.
  • Medics. Health care specialists, particularly surgeons, cardiologists, and rehabilitation specialists, will be needed at any time.
  • Builders. With the reconstruction of the country, the demand for specialists in the construction sector will increase.
  • Energy workers. Engineers, technicians, electricians, and other specialists from the energy sector will have many job opportunities.
  • And others.

Only 32.1% of employers plan to hire new workers in 2025, mainly to fill vacancies that are already open. According to surveys of employers, among the most popular professions expected for the coming year are positions for drivers, seamstresses, tractor drivers, loaders, repairmen, and others.
