According to Главком: Ukrainian actors Kateryna Tyshkevych and Valentyn Tomusiak have shared the news that they are expecting a baby. Tyshkevych has already entered her second trimester. The actress revealed that she and her husband only recently learned about the upcoming parenthood, noting that they had never actively tried to conceive before.

“Honestly, we never even attempted it all this time. I didn’t think it would happen for us so quickly,” Kateryna shared.

Medical Background and Pregnancy Preparation

In an interview with Alina Dorotiuk, Tyshkevych discussed her medical history and how she prepared for pregnancy. She had been undergoing treatment for chronic headaches and taking medication, but stopped using antidepressants about one and a half to two years ago.

“For the last year and a half to two years, I haven’t been taking antidepressants. I was stabilized to the point where I could avoid falling back into depressive states. I switched to a different medication that is safe during pregnancy, and we decided to try,” the actress explained.

The couple selected the conception date with guidance from an astrologer-who happens to be Tomusiak’s sister.

“We approached this so consciously that we even calculated it astrologically. Valik’s sister is an astrologer, and she picked such a favorable date and time for us that it worked almost immediately,” Tyshkevych added.

The pair decided to attempt pregnancy in January 2024, and by February they had confirmed the pregnancy.

However, at eight weeks, Kateryna faced a miscarriage risk due to bleeding.

“I woke up at three in the morning with bleeding. It was terrifying because there was a lot of blood. Honestly, I didn’t even know it was possible to save a pregnancy after such heavy bleeding-people don’t talk about it much,” she recalled.

Tyshkevych and Tomusiak have been married for over a decade, and this will be their first child.

For context, in 2023 Kateryna Tyshkevych was hospitalized in intensive care with sepsis, highlighting the challenging medical journey she has faced. The couple has endured significant hardships but is now eagerly anticipating this new chapter in their lives.
