Operation Midas: How SAP and NABU Uncovered a Large-Scale Corruption Scheme

According to САП: In recent days, an anti-corruption initiative called 'Midas' has captured public attention. It is important to highlight the main aspects of this operation, such as the numbers, measures to prevent individuals from engaging in corruption, the scheme of execution, and the potential consequences of the investigation.

One of the high-profile events was the uncovering of a corruption case involving a member of the Ukrainian parliament who demanded $250,000 for resolving issues related to sanctions. SAP and NABU also actively investigated bribery involving a judge from Transcarpathia and the legalization of over 9 million hryvnias in the case of the parliament member.

In the context of SAP's effectiveness at the judicial level, important events were considered, such as the application of compulsory measures against leaders of criminal organizations within the framework of 'Midas' operation and the sentencing of a former judge and a lawyer from VAKS.

From December 1 to 6, 2025, Ukraine continues to fight corruption actively, which is becoming increasingly systemic and effective thanks to the joint efforts of governmental structures and society.
