179 years to Yaroshenko: how an engineer became the head of the Society of Traveling Exhibitions

Mykola Oleksandrovych Yaroshenko, a Ukrainian artist and military engineer, is celebrating the 179th anniversary of his birth. Born in Poltava, he preferred art and glorified Ukrainian culture.



Active in art exhibitions, Yaroshenko led the Society of Traveling Art Exhibitions since 1887. This association influenced the directions of his works, where he embodied democratic ideals through realism.
