Ukraine War Update
According to the Ukrainian General Staff’s report on May 2, the frontline situation remains intense, with 116 combat engagements recorded in a single day. The enemy launched 47 airstrikes, dropped 151 guided aerial bombs, and deployed 5,360 kamikaze drones. Overall, 2,266 shelling attacks targeted populated areas and Ukrainian military positions. The most active combat operations are concentrated in the Pokrovsk sector.
In the Pokrovsk direction, 54 Russian occupiers were eliminated, and another 24 were wounded. The enemy lost 11 vehicles and one artillery system. Additionally, 5 vehicles, 90 shelters, and 3 artillery systems were damaged. Ukrainian forces also destroyed or suppressed 239 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types.
Activity Across Multiple Fronts
On the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk axes, the enemy conducted 82 shelling attacks, two of which used multiple rocket launchers. Two enemy assault operations were also recorded here. On the South-Slobozhansk axis, the enemy attacked five times near Starytsia, and on the Kupiansk axis, once toward Novoplatonivka.
On the Lyman axis, Ukrainian troops repelled five assaults near Drobysheve and Lyman. On the Sloviansk axis, the enemy attacked twice near Zakitne and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka. Occupiers also launched two attacks on the Kramatorsk axis toward Malynivka and near Bondarne.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, 16 attacks were recorded in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and toward Zolotyi Kolodiazh, with three of these ongoing. On the Pokrovsk axis, the enemy launched 24 attacks toward Bilytske, Nove Shakhove, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Muravka, and Molodetske. On the Oleksandrivka axis, four attacks were recorded toward Oleksandrohrad, Zlahoda, and near Ternove.
On the Huliaipole axis, 14 attacks were recorded in the areas of Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Sviatopetrivka, Staroukrainka, Charivne, Hirke, Tsvitkove, Myrne, and Varvarivka, with one attack still ongoing. On the Orikhiv axis, the enemy attacked twice near Stepove and Prymorske.
This marks the 1,529th day of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
The frontline situation remains critical, with active hostilities across multiple sectors, particularly in Pokrovsk, where both sides have concentrated significant forces. The high intensity of shelling and aerial strikes signals an escalation in the conflict, requiring Ukrainian troops to adapt and respond to new challenges. The prolonged nature of the war and the continuous losses on both sides indicate that tensions will persist in the coming days.
