Observed annually on the Friday before the spring equinox, World Sleep Day falls on March 13th this year. This global initiative highlights the critical role of sleep in human health and overall quality of life. The day is marked by events worldwide aimed at promoting better sleep habits and raising awareness of sleep's importance. In today's fast-paced world, where sleep disorders are increasingly common, this observance serves as a vital reminder of the need for healthy rest.

The goal of World Sleep Day is to increase public understanding of how essential sleep is for physical and mental well-being. The activities organized on this date focus on educating people about practices that can lead to improved sleep and, consequently, a better life.

Historical Events on March 13th

In the church calendar, March 13th is also the day believers commemorate the translation of the relics of Saint Nikephoros, the Patriarch of Constantinople who lived during the 8th and 9th centuries. Saint Nikephoros died in 828 AD, and his relics were transferred to Constantinople 19 years after his death.
