Ukraine Announces One-Time Financial Support Payment
Approximately 13 million Ukrainian citizens are set to receive a one-time payment of 1500 hryvnias per person in April 2026. This measure, authorized by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 341 dated March 18, 2026, will be disbursed automatically to specific categories of citizens without requiring an application. This initiative is part of broader social support efforts within the country.
Eligible Recipient Categories
Legal experts confirm the payment will be issued automatically. The eligible groups include:
- Old-age pensioners
- Disability pensioners
- Pensioners due to loss of a breadwinner
- Internally displaced persons
- Low-income families
- Single mothers
- Large families
- Orphaned children
- Children under guardianship
- Persons with childhood disabilities
- Children with disabilities
- Individuals over 65 without pension rights who receive state social assistance
For pensioners, the payment is conditional on their pension not exceeding 25,950 hryvnias. This income threshold does not apply to veterans, families of deceased or missing defenders, and liquidators of the Chornobyl (Chornobyl) nuclear accident. Funds will be transferred to bank accounts or delivered via Ukrposhta branches alongside regular April payments. However, payments may be delayed if registry data is outdated or fails technical verification.
This financial assistance represents a significant government step in supporting vulnerable population segments, particularly given the economic challenges the nation faces.
The automation of the payment process also aims to reduce bureaucracy and ensure faster access to financial aid for those in greatest need.
As the government rolls out this crucial financial support, it's essential for recipients to understand potential pitfalls. Many pensioners may face challenges in receiving their one-time payment, particularly if their information is outdated.
