Some Ukrainian cities will receive funds for the purchase of new public transport — a total of 28 million euros. The European Investment Bank (EIB) has already allocated 46.1 million euros in loans for the development of urban infrastructure, transport, and energy efficiency projects in Ukraine. Part of this will go to the buses. This is reported by the Ministry of Regional Development of Ukraine.
Which cities will receive funding
The EIB will finance four major programs that will be implemented in 13 cities:

Key areas:

Energy efficiency of public buildings — insulation of facades, replacement of windows, modernization of heating systems in schools, kindergartens, and hospitals in three cities (4.8 million euros).

Modernization of municipal services — restoration of street lighting, updating water supply systems, thermal modernization of educational institutions and reclamation of landfills in five cities (13.3 million euros).

Transportation renewal — procurement of buses, trolleybuses, and trams for nine cities (28 million euros).
How EU support works
The EIB finances these projects within the framework of the Ukraine Facility initiative, supported by the European Commission. The goal — to ensure the sustainable operation of municipal services even in wartime conditions.
Overall, the EIB has already provided over 168 million euros for the restoration of critical and social infrastructure — from transport systems to energy efficiency projects.
