Ukraine honors the Day of Remembrance for those who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chornobyl disaster on December 14. This holiday commemorates the heroes who risked their lives to save others from radiation danger. Also, on this day in Ukraine, Charity Day is celebrated, aimed at promoting the nation's compassion.
The festive program includes International Monkey Day, although it is not official, as well as the religious commemoration of five martyrs from the 3rd century. Traditionally, attention is paid to the folk beliefs and signs of the day, as well as honoring individuals with name days: Anastasia, Dmitry, Naum, Porphyrius, Thyrsa, Philemon.
