Yesterday, August 13, on the road 'Zhydachiv-Khodov', a traffic accident occurred, resulting in the deaths of two people and three others being injured. The deceased were a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old young man. This was reported by 'Hlavkom' citing the police of Lviv region.
According to preliminary data from law enforcement, the accident happened around 20:00 near the village of Ivanovtsy in the Stryi district. There was a collision between a Mercedes-Benz driven by a 17-year-old teenager and a Seat Altea XL driven by a 31-year-old man.
As a result of the collision, the 15-year-old female passenger and the 20-year-old young man, who were in the Mercedes-Benz, died on the spot. Three more passengers of the same vehicle - a 15-year-old and two 17-year-old boys - were hospitalized with bodily injuries.
Following the incident, investigators have initiated criminal proceedings for violating traffic safety rules. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years. Currently, the question of detaining the underage driver of the Mercedes-Benz is being considered.
