Recently, the 140th anniversary of the birth of Mykola Ivanovych Kasperovych was celebrated — a talented Ukrainian artist known for his works in icon painting, restoration, painting and graphics. He is one of the representatives of 'Boychukism', a movement that emerged as a result of the influence of Mykola Boychuk.

Following Boychuk's ideas, Kasperovych explored proto-Renaissance art, ancient Ukrainian icon painting, and folk painting, which allowed him to develop as an artist. His work gained great popularity and recognition in Kyiv, where he worked.

'The tempera works of the 1920s are characterized by the stylization of forms, a special linear and color play.'

In addition, Mykola Ivanovych created numerous drawings, including the saber of hetman Ivan Mazepa and other interesting works.

Kasperovych's legacy includes many valuable works that testify to his talent and contribution to national art.
