December 20: Day of Veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, historical events and folk signs of the day

The Day of Honoring Retired and Veteran Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is celebrated on December 20 in Ukraine. This holiday was established to express gratitude to law enforcement employees for their contribution to ensuring the country's security. Also on this day, the memory of Saint Ignatius the Godbearer is honored, and International Day of Solidarity with People and Games Day is celebrated. In historical memory, for example, in 1803, the USA became the owner of Louisiana after an agreement with France. Various folk signs related to nature and weather are also celebrated on this day.
