Holodomor 1932-33: how the communist regime organized genocide

Голодомор 1932-33: жахливі наслідки геноциду, запланованого радянською владою.

Today, November 22, 2025, we commemorate the Day of Remembrance for the victims of famines. This holiday reminds us of the millions of innocent people whose lives were cut short by the brutality of the Holodomor. The Holodomor of 1932-1933 was an arbitrary crime, planned by the communist authorities to punish Ukrainians and eliminate their resistance to the totalitarian regime.

In its decision of July 16, 2019, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized that the Holodomor of 1932-1933 was one of the most horrific crimes of the 20th century. The court emphasized that the communist regime violated human rights, ignored international standards, and broke laws.

“one of the most horrific crimes of the 20th century was the slow, starving death of millions of people as a result of the artificial famine organized by the communist regime”.

Today, we honor the memory of those who suffered from these terrible events of the past. May the light of remembrance for the fallen burn in every window. Their pain is always with us... Ukraine will not forget! The world remembers!

The Day of Remembrance for the victims of famines is an important time to honor the memory and recall the terrible events in history. May this tragedy never be repeated, and may the memory of the victims of the famines help us to not forget the deepest human values and historical lessons.
