Прогноз погоди в Україні на 22 січня: очікуються низькі температури та опади.

Weather Shift Expected for Ukraine on January 22

Meteorologists are forecasting a significant shift in the weather across Ukraine on January 22, bringing a combination of wintry precipitation and freezing conditions. This date coincides with Ukraine's Unity Day, a national holiday commemorating the unification of Ukrainian lands in 1919, which will see celebrations potentially impacted by the cold.

According to the forecast, daytime temperatures on January 22 are expected to range from -2 to -5 degrees Celsius. In northern regions, the mercury could drop as low as -8 degrees in some areas. For the capital, Kyiv, nighttime temperatures may plunge to -12 degrees, with daytime highs hovering between -2 and -4 degrees. A moderate to gusty southeasterly wind is also predicted.

Meteorologists' Detailed Outlook

Meteorologist Natalka Didenko reported that the initial precipitation will develop in the country's southwest. She also warned of potential icy conditions on roads, which could complicate travel. These weather patterns echo those of past years; for instance, frost was also recorded in Kyiv on January 22, 1919. During the 'Human Chain' event in 1990, temperatures fell to -11 degrees Celsius.

Consequently, Ukrainians should prepare for cold and wet weather on a day dedicated to celebrating a historic event that symbolizes national unity. The wintry conditions may affect public gatherings and festivities, so organizers are advised to account for the forecast in their planning. Similar meteorological phenomena have been observed in the past, indicating this is a typical winter weather pattern for the time of year.
