On May 31, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released its frontline report, documenting 229 combat engagements, 58 airstrikes, and 4,452 kamikaze drones. In total, 2,213 shelling attacks targeted populated areas and military positions. The most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk direction, where 40 assaults were recorded over the past day. This marks the 1,558th day of the war.
Over the course of the day, Russian forces carried out 58 airstrikes, dropping 174 guided aerial bombs. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops neutralized 38 occupiers and wounded 17 others. The fighting destroyed one multiple rocket launcher, one military vehicle, and five pieces of special enemy equipment. Additionally, three vehicles and one artillery piece were damaged, along with one drone control station. Ukrainian forces also destroyed or suppressed 183 enemy drones of various types.
Frontline Situation
On the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk axes, eight combat clashes occurred, with the enemy conducting 67 shelling attacks on military positions and settlements, four of which involved multiple rocket launchers. In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces stormed defensive lines ten times, while on the Kupiansk front, they launched three assaults. On the Lyman axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy attempts to advance, with four clashes still ongoing.
On the Sloviansk direction, defense forces pushed back four enemy advances, with one battle continuing. No offensive actions were recorded in the Kramatorsk sector. In the Kostiantynivka area, Ukrainian troops repelled ten enemy assaults, with one clash still underway. On the Oleksandrivka front, occupiers attempted once to improve their tactical position, while on the Huliaipole axis, 29 attacks were logged. In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy tried ten times to breach defenses, with two ongoing engagements in that area. On the Dnipro front, one enemy assault toward the Antonivskyi Bridge was halted.
The frontline situation remains tense, as Ukrainian forces continue to actively counter enemy offensives.
The General Staff’s report underscores the sustained intensity of military operations in Ukraine, with particularly high activity around Pokrovsk. Despite numerous attacks by occupying forces, Ukrainian troops demonstrate resilience and an effective ability to repel advances. These developments highlight the protracted nature of the conflict and the critical need for continued international support to ensure regional security.
