The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a first-level (yellow) weather alert for the Kyiv region and the capital city. A yellow alert is the lowest of three levels but signals hazardous conditions that require public caution. The forecast predicts cloudy weather with precipitation, including wet snow and rain, leading to widespread ice formation (icing). Meteorologists warn these conditions could significantly disrupt road transport.

The Carpathians and the northeast are forecast to experience significant icing and wet snow accumulation. Roads will be slippery nationwide, except in the southern and southeastern regions where conditions will be more favorable.
