Public Transport Route Modifications
Kyiv's municipal transport corporation, Kyivpastrans, has announced temporary route changes for bus number 2 and trolleybus number 27 on March 25. These adjustments are necessary due to repair work on Post-Volynska Street, which will be ongoing from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Such service changes are common in the capital as the city works to modernize its aging infrastructure.
During this period, bus route 2 will operate on a revised path:
- Academician Koroliov Avenue (from Vakhtang Kikabidze Street)
- Devyatoho Travnya Street
- Vidradnyi Avenue, bypassing Post-Volynska, Novopolova, and Oleksy Hirnyka streets entirely
- Academician Shalimov Street, then resuming its standard route to Sholudenko Street
Trolleybus 27 will shorten its route, running only from the Pochaina metro station to the DBK-3 stop.
Separately, movement across several of Kyiv's bridges and overpasses remains partially restricted until March 25. The municipal road and bridge service, KP Kyivavtoshliakhmist, is conducting these repairs, noting that schedules may be adjusted if weather conditions deteriorate.
Guidance for Drivers and Passengers
The route changes for Kyiv's public transport are part of scheduled maintenance aimed at improving the city's infrastructure. Similarly, the restrictions on bridges and overpasses highlight the ongoing need for technical upkeep to ensure traffic safety. Both drivers and public transport users are advised to plan their journeys in advance to avoid delays and inconvenience during these repair works.
As the city continues to prioritize infrastructure improvements, it's essential for residents to stay informed about ongoing repair schedules. For instance, the recent announcement regarding bridge and overpass maintenance outlines potential traffic disruptions throughout March, which could further impact travel plans.
