On December 9, 2025, the investigating judge of the VAKS decided to apply a preventive measure in the form of a bail of 3 million 28 thousand hryvnias to the people's deputy, who was found to be involved with other individuals in unlawful influence on the decision regarding the application of sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) against a competing company.
The suspect has been placed under a number of procedural obligations, including: to appear before the detective, prosecutor, investigating judge, and court upon their request and summons; not to leave Ukraine without permission from the appropriate authorities; to notify about any change of residence; to refrain from communicating with the specified individuals; to submit documents for leaving Ukraine and to use an electronic monitoring device.
“According to Part 1 of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.”
The resolution on the application of NSDC sanctions against the people's deputy is being considered in court, where preventive measures for the accused person suspected of being involved with others are determined. The suspect has been assigned a number of obligations ahead of the court decision regarding the threat to national security. The court's verdict will be determined in accordance with the law and constitutional norms.
