Meeting of the International Maritime Organization
On November 28, member states of the International Maritime Organization will vote on the composition of the Council - the body that shapes global maritime security policy. The International Maritime Organization was established to support safe and environmentally sustainable shipping.
After losing the ability to be re-elected to the IMO Council at the 33rd Assembly in 2023 due to its military aggression and violations of maritime law, Ukraine urges the international community to continue support. Russia's return to the Council could be seen as impunity and a threat to safety and transparency in shipping.
