On December 16, 2025, the Criminal Cassation Court as part of the Supreme Court confirmed the sentence of the Appeal Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated 26.08.2024, by which the people's deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation Ruslan Solvar was found guilty of illegally receiving compensation for renting a room at the "Kyiv" hotel and was sent to 3 years in prison. The prosecution successfully proved that Solvar's actions were in violation of the law, and now the sentence is final.
Ruslan Solvar is guilty of violating Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In addition to imprisonment, he was fined 8500 hryvnias and deprived of the right to hold positions in public authorities for 1 year, except for electoral positions. Currently, the former deputy is in pre-trial detention, and the resolution of the Supreme Court is not subject to further appeal.
