The Ministry of Social Policy reported that the UN World Food Program will stop providing additional cash payments in Ukraine starting from August. This will result in almost 390 thousand Ukrainians, particularly pensioners and persons with disabilities living in high-risk regions, losing this financial support.

The program, which was in effect from August 2023, was intended for socially vulnerable citizens who met certain criteria. Payments were made automatically, and the maximum amount was 3,250 hryvnias per month, as long as the recipient's income did not exceed this amount and they were not participants in other international charity programs.

The cessation of assistance will affect pensioners, persons with disabilities, and citizens who are not entitled to pensions. Residents of nine regions, where combat actions may occur, received this support. If additional funding becomes available, the program may be resumed or replaced with another form of assistance.
