Mass poisoning in a children's camp in Lviv region


In the Lviv region at the Friendly Camp children's camp in Slavske, as of 16:00, 47 people have already been hospitalized, including 45 children. This was reported by 'Glavkom' with reference to the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention.



On August 4, children who were resting at the Friendly Camp started complaining of feeling unwell: nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. They were hospitalized in Striy, Skole, Drohobych, and Lviv regional infectious clinical hospitals.



Doctors are determining the cause of the illness.


Recall that on August 4 at about 22:20, the police received a report from parents about the poisoning of children in one of the recreation camps in the Lviv region. A total of 24 children from various regions of Ukraine aged seven to 17 were taken to medical institutions. The preliminary diagnosis of the patients is acute intestinal infection.



The investigative department of police station No. 3 of the Striy district police opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 325 (Violation of sanitary rules and norms in preventing infectious diseases and mass poisonings) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty for this article includes a fine of 1,000 to 3,000 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, or imprisonment for up to six months, or restriction of freedom for up to three years, or deprivation of liberty for the same period.



During the summer holidays, a mass poisoning occurred in a children's camp in the Lviv region, which resulted in several dozen people, mostly children, needing hospitalization. Currently, doctors are investigating the causes of this unfortunate incident, and the police have begun an investigation to establish those responsible.
