National Cashback for April
The government has started distributing the National Cashback for April. Around 5 million people are eligible for this payout. The amount each person receives depends on how many Ukrainian-made goods they purchased during the month. Importantly, recipients cannot withdraw the money as cash or transfer it to another card. The funds can only be used for cashless payments on goods and services.
How to Use the Cashback
The cashback can be spent on:
- utilities and postal services
- medications
- domestically produced food items
- books from Ukrainian publishers
Alternatively, the money can be donated to charity or directed toward supporting the Defense Forces. The deadline to use the funds is July 31 inclusive. Any amount left unspent after that date will be automatically canceled and returned to the state budget.
This April cashback payout marks the completion of the program's first phase, while a new phase began on May 1. Originally, the spending deadline for the April cashback was set for July 1, but it was extended to the end of the month.
The National Cashback is part of the state's efforts to support domestic producers and encourage consumption of Ukrainian goods.
Through this initiative, citizens have a chance to bolster the national economy by buying locally made products. At the same time, restricting the funds to cashless transactions promotes better financial discipline and oversight of budget spending. Future phases of the program may introduce additional changes to cashback eligibility, so consumers should stay informed.
As the National Cashback program progresses, it's important for recipients to stay informed about future phases. For instance, there are plans to extend the spending deadline, which could allow for more flexibility in utilizing these funds.
