50 thousand hryvnias for childbirth: who will receive new assistance from 2026

Нова фінансова підтримка для молодих батьків: в Україні запроваджуються виплати при народженні дитини.

Assistance for mothers and children in Ukraine

Starting January 1, 2026, Ukraine will introduce assistance of 50 thousand hryvnias for mothers who give birth to children after this date. This initiative is part of the law on 'child' payments, which came into effect at the beginning of the year. Additionally, the law provides for monthly fixed payments for children up to one year old, which will apply to newborns born after January 1, 2026.

The 'eKindergarten' program and its implementation

The government's plans also include launching the 'eKindergarten' program in 2028. It will provide monthly payments for children aged 3 to 6 years, which will serve as additional support for families with children.

Ludmyla Shemelinets noted that since the technical implementation of the program may take some time, parents who wish to apply for assistance now need to contact the Pension Fund or use the 'eBaby' service in the 'Diia' app.

The introduction of new payments for mothers and children in Ukraine is part of the government's efforts to support families and increase birth rates. These initiatives reflect the growing attention to social policy aimed at improving conditions for raising children.

In addition to one-time payments, the 'eKindergarten' program also aims to support families with preschool-aged children, which can positively impact social stability in the country.
