A 57-year-old man from the Zhmerinka district is suspected of repeatedly raping his underage granddaughter. The criminal took advantage of the fact that the child trusted him and used his position to commit the crime.
«The actions of the man have been qualified under Part 4, 6 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – the rape of a person who has not reached the age of fourteen, committed repeatedly. The suspect committed illegal acts against his granddaughter,» the statement says.
Law enforcement agencies detained the suspect in this case and have already successfully resolved the issue of a preventive measure. The man will be held in custody without the possibility of bail.
Other cases of the rape of minors in Kyiv and Kharkiv region
A case of the rape of a 15-year-old girl by a 49-year-old man has been recorded in the capital of Ukraine. The offender has already been detained and faces up to 12 years in prison without the right to bail.
In Kharkiv region, police are also investigating a case of the rape of a minor child by a group of criminals. A 14-year-old boy was forced to engage in sexual acts by his acquaintances aged 15 and 20.
Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are actively responding to cases of the rape of minors and taking necessary measures to stop such crimes and punish those responsible.
