Today, August 6, Ukraine celebrates one of the important religious holidays - the Transfiguration of the Lord, known as the Apple Savior. This holiday, celebrated by Orthodox Christians, is filled with special traditions such as the blessing of fruits and preparing treats for loved ones and the needy.

Also, August 6 is the day of significant international events, such as Hiroshima Day, when in 1945 an American bomber dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, claiming the lives of tens of thousands of people. This tragedy persistently reminds us of the necessity to prohibit nuclear weapons, as well as the role of doctors in humanism and achieving peace.

August 6 is also a day of significant historical events, such as the beginning of the first space travels and the release of the first personal computer, IBM PC. This day is also known for popular omens about the weather and harvest, and names such as Anatoly, Ivan, Lev, and others are celebrated.
