January 6, hourly power outage schedules will start in Ukraine: all regions

З 6 січня в Україні розпочнуться планові відключення електроенергії: усі регіони підлягають графіку.

Introduction of hourly power outage schedules

On January 6, hourly power outage schedules and power limitation schedules will come into effect in all regions of Ukraine. This decision has been made due to the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on energy facilities, which have significantly affected the stability of the country's energy system.

The General Director of DTEK, Maxim Timchenko, noted that this winter will be the most difficult for Ukrainians since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. According to him, the situation in the energy system may change, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the new outage schedules.

The goal of changes in energy policy

The changes in energy policy, effective from January 6, aim to ensure a more even distribution of electricity among consumers and reduce the load on the energy system amid its instability.

The introduction of hourly power outage schedules is a response to the challenges facing Ukraine's energy sector amid military aggression. The importance of timely responses to changes in the energy situation underscores the need for consumers to adapt to new conditions, which may affect the everyday lives of the population. This decision also reflects a desire to ensure the stability of the energy system under limited resources and can help avoid more serious accidents in the future.
