With the start of the heating season, rumors about a new fixed price for gas for Ukrainians have spread in the media - 7.42 UAH per cubic meter. However, this news has caused confusion, as most consumers have been paying 7.96 UAH/m³ for several years now. The details were clarified by the information resource 'GasPravda'.
Experts confirmed that the gas price for the population will remain unchanged. Most Ukrainians who use Naftogaz services will continue to pay 7.96 UAH per cubic meter of gas. This tariff will remain stable at least until the end of the heating season.
The bills from gas suppliers will reflect a price of 7.96 UAH per cubic meter, at least until March 2026.
The fixed price of 7.42 UAH/m³ applies to heat producers, not directly to the population. This price is used by TCE enterprises for the production of heat and hot water, which are supplied to citizens' homes.
The price regulation mechanism through PSO allows the government to guarantee tariff stability in case of emergencies. Thus, for the population, the tariff remains unchanged - 7.96 UAH per cubic meter of gas.
